Income over feed cost (IOFC) = milk income − feed cost. It excludes labour, health, energy and other costs, so it is a margin for comparison, not profit. A milk/feed ratio of about 1.5 or higher is widely regarded in Türkiye as the level at which milk production is sustainable.
